Nicholas Smith earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago, Illinois.

Nicholas began his career at Thomson Memory Center in Arlington Heights, Illinois where he was responsible for administering a wide range of psychological and neurological tests to evaluate cognitive abilities, memory, behaviors, and emotions in children, adolescents, and adults. He also was responsible for analyzing test data, generating reports and providing information regarding treatment planning to patients and families.

Nicholas also previously worked as a Biofeedback and Neurofeedback Specialist at Dr. Laura Janson’s Norris Institute for Neurofeedback. Nicholas has extensive background and expertise in psychophysiological treatment modalities. Nicholas is board certified in Neurofeedback (BCN) from the Biofeedback Certification International Alliance (BCIA). Nicholas is also board certified in Heart Rate Variability Biofeedback (BCB-HRV).

Nick has significant experience and expertise working with children, adolescents, and adults with anxiety, depression, developmental disabilities, autism-spectrum disorder, sensory integration concerns, traumatic brain injury/concussions, seizure disorders/other neurologic issues, memory and cognitive concerns, behavioral concerns, mood disorders, and executive function difficulties.

On the NeuroHealth Team, Nicholas conducts psychological and neurological testing as well as provides biofeedback intervention to children, adolescents, and adults. Moreover, Nick is the Testing and Neurophysiology Intervention Coordinator at NeuroHealth, working closely with Dr. Laurie Philipps regarding oversight of all testing and biofeedback cases.
