Dr. Tobrina Goldbaum Psy.D. earned her Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Clinical Psychology from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California. She obtained a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology in Alameda, California. She then obtained her Doctorate of Psychology (Psy.D.) at the California School of Professional Psychology in San Francisco, California.
Dr. Goldbaum’s extensive career first began in California where she worked in a variety of behavioral health environments. She initially worked for the psychiatric emergency service at Tulare County Mental Health, treated patients at Transitions Mental Health, and provided individual psychotherapy for adolescents.
Dr. Goldbaum also directed youth-based behavioral health and psychiatric programs at the Family and Child Guidance and Bernal Heights Summer and Youth Employment Center in California. She subsequently worked at the Tender Lion Family Agency where she provided long-term psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and families, and also administered psychological testing to children and adolescents, generating medical necessity reports and clinical treatment plans.
Subsequently, Dr. Goldbaum worked with Marin County Mental Health in Marin County, California. Where she provided short and long-term psychotherapy to adults with a variety of psychological concerns and participated in rotating shifts in the emergency psychiatric hospital. As a Pre-Doctoral Clinical Psychology Resident at Marin’s Adults and Older Adults Outpatient Center, she continued to work with adult patients. At Marin County Mental Health, Dr. Goldbaum became a Crisis and Group Specialist. Within this role, she developed and coordinated the entire mental health intake system for Marin County’s special education referral system for children and adolescents. She also conducted psychological assessments and created treatment plans for children and adolescents with Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Prior to joining the NeuroHealth Team, Dr. Goldbaum worked with Wolfson Psychology Services in Deerfield, Illinois as a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, providing psychotherapy, psychological testing, diagnostics, and treatment plans to adults. Dr. Goldbaum has multiple scholarly publications and also has an extensive history of volunteer work.
Dr. Goldbaum has expertise in the area of mood disorders, personality disorders, substance use, autism spectrum disorders, depression, anxiety, trauma, obsessive-compulsive disorder, traumatic brain injury/concussions, cognitive concerns, memory loss, and behavioral concerns, and crisis care. At NeuroHealth, Dr. Goldbaum conducts initial intake sessions and provides individual psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and adults. Dr. Goldbaum also provides couples and family therapy.
