Wine lovers will feel right at home starting their date night out at Tuscan Market & Wine Shop. Grab a seat at the wine bar, which offers an extensive selection of reds, whites, and rosés. If you prefer a beer, you’re in luck. They’ve got several draft beers on a weekly rotation with options for every craft beer lover, including lagers and ales.

Tuscan Market & Wine Shop’s appetizer menu offers delectable plates before you head out to a local show or event. Try the Wine Bar Cheese Board to complement your cabernet, or treat your taste buds with the Artichoke & Bruschetta Plate. If you want to stay and mingle for a while, you can’t go wrong with an artisan pizza like the Porky Pig, a savory barbecue pork creation. Don’t forget to grab a bottle of your favorite wine on the way out.

Location: 141 W. Wing St., Arlington Heights.

Hours: 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

House of Music & Entertainment

House of Music & Entertainment, locally referred to as HOME, perfectly combines a sports bar, music venue, and restaurant to make for a date night dream. Enjoy a signature HOME cocktail or your favorite domestic or craft beer from their massive selection, and check out their menu curated by Executive Chef Anthony Sabella. Share an appetizer like Thai Shrimp Tacos or Bavarian Pretzel Sticks, and savor the Spinach and Apple Salad, BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger, or Sausage Rigatoni while you relax in the lounge.

Stay after dinner to catch a show on the stage. HOME’s entertainment offerings include live bands, musicians, and DJs, and there’s plenty of space to dance and sing the night away. Check out the weekly karaoke events if singing on stage is more your style. Trivia fans are in luck, too. Bring your partner for HOME’s weekly trivia night for an evening of delicious food and friendly competition. With closing times in the wee hours of the morning and late-night menus, it’s a great spot for night owls.

Location: 1227 N. Rand Road, Arlington Heights.

Hours: 11 a.m. to 3 a.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 4 a.m. Friday and Saturday.

Located on the third floor of the Metropolis building, this 10,000-square-foot space features three bar areas, plenty of lounge space, and a balcony lounge. Relax on a cozy couch or at a community table, or challenge your partner to a game of pool, darts, shuffleboard, or air hockey.

You can pop in on Wednesdays for drink specials or start your weekend early with a Thursday date night. For those who want more excitement, the Arlington Ale House hosts DJs and live bands on Friday and Saturday nights. The venue doesn’t serve food, but they invite guests to bring their own or have fresh meals delivered from one of many area restaurants. With so many drink and entertainment options, this local favorite makes it easy to check all your boxes for the perfect night out.

When you’re ready for the real deal, choose from Hey Nonny’s menu of salads, soups, sandwiches, and signature entrées, like the Rasta Pasta or Smoked Brisket Tacos.

Take your night to the next room for a live performance by a talented local musician or music group. Hey Nonny features artists from many genres, including Country, Rock, Americana, Bluegrass, Folk, and Jazz. Buy tickets ahead of time to skip the line at the venue, or plan a date night on the evening of a free show. Don’t forget to head back in the morning for bottomless mimosas and bloody marys at brunch.

If music is more your style, take your date for an evening of live tunes from local cover bands and independent artists. The Metropolis also hosts galas and fundraisers, so you can have a date night for a good cause.

Check out a nearby restaurant before the show starts, or take an elevator to the third floor for a drink at the Arlington Ale House. There’s always something new happening at the Metropolis, so if you enjoy the performance, be sure to check back later to see what’s coming up. Better yet, make it a date night tradition with season subscriptions.
